God has ordered coexistence among each other for Muslims and made it a legitimate duty before it is a social necessity required by the nature of life for individuals and groups. He, The Almighty, urged the maintenance of dignity and the preservation of rights and forbade the abuse of sanctities and the transgression of property, as this is the basis of coexistence between different Muslim sections. Their different opinions and doctrines do not cast them outside of Islam, and they do not lose any of their rights. God, the Almighty, enjoined them to support each other and cooperate among themselves on righteousness and piety.
Our religion also recognizes the principle of peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims through the verses of the Holy Quran and Sunnah whether in hadeeths, deeds, and acceptance of both. Muslims have always adopted this principle as a custom in their countries and as their approach in others. Every member of the Islamic community is required under Islamic law to coexist with other individuals, regardless of the differences with them. The Holy Quran has paved the way for the basic principles of all peaceful coexistence forms, and encouraged tolerance and brotherhood to attain righteous succession on earth and civilization. The Qur'an has a coherent vision on the subject of peaceful coexistence among all people, with different tongues, colors, religions and creeds. Such a vision fosters security and peace within diverse communities and protects them from the rift, confrontation and clash of civilizations, which is the goal of the present study.
The study is comprised of three main parts. The first one uncovers the importance of peaceful coexistence at the level of individuals and communities. The second topic identifies the bases of peaceful coexistence through the Holy Quran. The third section deals with the manifestations of this co-existence in the book of Allah Almighty, whether among Muslims themselves, or among themselves and others in the Muslim communities or in other societies. The research concludes with the most important results of this study, which generally agree that the Quran is a source of the means of peaceful cohabitation and compassion for humanity, a book in which property is preserved and the rights and dignity of all people are guarded.
